Hello everyone I have waited to write this take on the suspension of Saints Coach Sean Payton. Now is the time. 1. Is the punishment justified? Yes. The HC is the one responsible for on field performance. What this means is when something like this happens The first phone call should go to the HC. Tom Benson, Greg Williams , Mickey Loomis, and everyone involved made the conscious decision to align themselves in the bounty scheme. The average NFL player plays about 5 years. I am hearing lots of whining and crying regarding
how unfair it is that the hammer of Roger Godell came down hard on the who dat Nation. The organization has demonstrated that the men there have limited character and really need to change the culture there by cleaning house. Coach P has lost 5.8 million dollars for the 2012 season. Those mentoring kids need to understand that when you allow adults in authority to continue to lie and manipulate circumstances to say the end justifies the means then you are teaching them a philosophy of rule breaking and this demonstrates a lack of moral fiber. Character matters folks . As far as the lessons sports teaches us 1. Team work. 2. discipline
3. Playing the game the right way. It is Ironic that SB 47 is being held in New Orleans. Reinstatement will be considered after the next SB February 2013. I want to take a moment and look at why the leauge needs to cleanse itself from any residual effects of this 1. The NFL just came out of a lockout. 2. Those that have been concussed could come back and say my brain damage was caused by bounties being placed on players.
3. Since we in America live in a sue happy society The NFL needs to protect itself from pending or new lawsuits. I applaud what the NFL has done here. Similar to the 1919 Black Sox scandal this is just as bad or worse. Despite the fact that the integrity of the game has been compromised. This does not mean you have to.
