After what has been a tough wek for this writer the best news that I have heard so far this month is that the Los Angeles Dodgers once a storied franchise in American Baseball was recently taken over by MLB Commish Bud Selig.. I am not a real Bud Selig fan for many reasons. The Cancellation of the World Series in 1994. I have to say Bud Selig has made the right call in this case. Ever since 2004 after a highly leveraged buyout of thr team from Fox Magnate and media Mogul Frank Murdoch, The team has lost it,s way from the Walter O,Malley days when you knew the players without having to look at a score card. In my era as a young fan Garvey, Lopes, Russell, and Cey were the infield. With the well publicized divorce of Frank and Jamie Mccourt and the not so exciting revealtion that the team was being used as a personal credit card or ATM machine if you will under the regieme. MLB will hire a conservator to over see day to day operations of the team and finally return The Dodgers to the fans. It must be understood that although Frank and Jamie think they can argue community property statutes all the want, The MLB has decided to return the team to the fans I have long advocated the sale of the team to another ownership group. To that end former 1st basemen Garvey has stepped up with 8 other investors to potentially buy the team. Thank you Mr. Selig. I have no doubt that the selling of the team may come after Frank sues MLB, but the way his wife Jamie
spends money he may not have the Cash to defend his case against MLB. It is going to take alot of Mcourts
so-called Parking Lot revenue to pay off his wife and his legal team VS MLB. I would hope Frank is woried more about the welfare of the fan who was beaten into a medically induced coma due to poor parking lot security and lighting than retaining control of the Dodgers. To Dodger fans it is 5,o,clock somwhere in the world and for a change Bud did what was best for the fan,s Yes, Dodger fans this Bud,s for you
