Today Dylan Axelrod fufills a lifelong dream to Pitch in the Major Leauges and this has nothing
to do with Charlie Sheen,s Character Rick Vaughn in the movie of the same name. Axelrod replaces the often injured Jake Peavy who has been shut down for they year. Axelrod a 30th round pick by the San Diego Padres in 2007 out of UC Irvine has long toiled through the minor leauges with a stint in the Independent Leauges with the likes of the Windy City Thunderbolts This year has been a up and down year for Axelrod who could have been Nicknamed Mr. No Decision for the amount of games he pitched well in but got the ND One of the most treasured qualities of the quiet 26 Year old is he is not loud or obnoxious and definitely a man of few words so the Chicago media will be doing well to get about 3 full sentences out of him if that. His friends and Supporters will be watching today @ 11.10 PDT as the White Sox face Detroit and Brad Penney 10-10 5.19. I must Point out that the broadcasters for the White Sox Ed Farmer and Daron Jackson have made a grave miscaculation in recently complaining that Axelrod does not have a power arm as does most of the White Sox Bullpen . The hope here in the Local Santa Barbara /Carpinteria area is that Axelrod will quiet his critics as well as the Power laden line up in Detroit. You will see he has control is around the plate and was voted by BBA as having the best curveball in the organization. Internally Axelrod was voted the most complete Pitcher within the Organization. With a team searching for an Identity Axelrod is not a bad start in the Identity department I along with Many today in the Santa Barbara/Carpinteria California area will be identifying with him as he takes the hill wearing #39 Not bad for a guy who The Padres organization gave up on and the Broadcast team of Farmer and Jackson complain
about the lack of a power arm You can hear the game on WSCR The Score AM670 in Chicago or MLB Extra innings Package through your SAT or Cable Provider. As Hall of Famer Vin Scully used to say Little things mean a lot in terms of Baseball Hopefully Axelrod will do the little things today that mean a lot and form a new Identity for himself and an organization searching for one.
