Good Evening The Seahawks and the 12th man fan base can relax for at least 9 days from now when they face the San Fransisco 49ers in week 1 I myself have had concerns as a fan that the team was moving slower than a traffic jam on the 520 Bridge. For now the Seahawk offense had thier best 1st team performance of the preseason and evening the record at 2-2 Tavaris Jackson and OC Daryl Bevell seem to have finally found the same mental zipcode for a change as Jackson finished an efficient 5-7 for 88yds. The other concerns I have had is the right side of the offensive line led by the firm of Moffit and Carpenter both rookies from Wisconsin and Alabama. It does appear that o-line coach Tom Cable has simplified things to include a zone blocking scheme that for the most part actually formed a pocket for the aforementiontioned Jackson to stay in rather than run out of faster than a Sound Transit bus at the Corner of Rainier and Othello. For the offense the highlights included several Golden Moments in the the form of Mr. Tate the former 2nd round draftee from Notre Dame combined for 156 all purpose yds in an effort to keep his job on the 53 man roster. I mean really this is a guy who was lucky to find his way through the Notorious Renton Wa S curves on the freeway getting to the VMac training center and could not run a pass route last year I mean he needed a GPS to find and execute a proper route last year. Really. While there are still questions sorrounding a defense and secondary that is bigger in size with the recent departue of Kelley Jennings They are a work in Progress and with the lack of mini-Camps and OTAs likely 1500 snaps or more combined. The 7-9 Seahawks will not win the first few games in a snap. It will take work with Road games in San Fransisco and Pittsburg respectively to start the Season. The Seahawks must cut the roster down by 27 players by 4pm PDT Saturday. then the road work starts at least WSDOT is not the only organization that needs to complete it,s roadwork on time. I need to catch my 12th man Charter for the 2011 Season Hopefully it arrives on time as opposed to a King County Metro or Sound Transit route until Sept 11th I am Mark Alan Janisch Senior Writer and founder of WWS you may find me on Twitter @wideworldof spor
