Carpinteria goes big in 38-12 win over Santa Ynez

Carpinteria’s playmakers put on a ahow Friday night, sparking the Warriors to a 38-12 win over Santa Ynez in one of the oldest high school football rivalries in the area.
Quarterback Ian Craddock and speedy receiver Bryson Frazer electrified the crowd at Carpinteria Valley Memorial Stadium by hooking up for a 65-yard catch-and-run touchdown play on the last play of the first half. That gave the Warriors a 21-6 lead.
Earlier, Craddock threw a 30-yard touchdown to Duncan Gordon, and Peter Ramos ran for a touchdown.
Craddock opened the second half with another big play. On an option keeper, he broke through the Santa Ynez defense and rambled 79 yards for a touchdown.
Santa Ynez came right back with an 80-yard TD pass from quarterback Brock Dickey to Nick Nielsen.
Ramos was the workhorse for the rest of the second half for Carpinteria. He also was a standout on defense during the game, recording a pair of sacks.
In addition, to his running and passing, Craddock also kicked a field goal and five extra points for the Warriors, who improved to 4-0.
