The bright lights of New York is the next stop for former Denver QB Tim Tebow. I am not sure weather Tim Tebow is ready to face the love hate relationship that he may have waiting for him in Gotham. The most polarizing figure in the NFL seeks to be a contributor to a team that needs no more circus acts to add to an already crowded 3 rings that include the bombastic but entertaining Rex Ryan . Rex has an ego the size of Queens and Brooklyn combined and loves being the center of attention. Move over Rex, GM Mike Tannenbaum has boarded the Tebow train to the consternation of one Mark Sanchez. The over sensitive and weak minded QB was just signed to an extension as the Starter. I really am shocked. Question 1. during the opening presser at Jets camp is going to go something like this Reporter Is there a QB controversy in Camp.
Rex Responds Not unless you want to write that there is one. The Jets do have a controversy of there own creation by bringing Tebow to New York. Circus performer number 2. Mark Sanchez. Mark Sanchez has led the team to recent playoff success. The problem I see coming for him includes the second guessing that is going to come and the fear that if he makes a mistake of any type the fans will be clamoring for Tebow time and you will have an athlete with an offended ego and he will under Perform. Circus performer number 3 Tebow himself . With New OC former Miami Dolphin coach Sporano will have packages available for him as he did with RB Ronnie Brown and Pat White. The Jets had many internal struggles last year within the locker room that distracted the team in 2011. Historically Christians were fed to lions as sport. The lions in the New York media are going to eat Tebow up. 1. New York is all about winning. Tebow needs to realize the spiritual climate in NYC is about as comforting as a blizzard in the Adirondacks . All his verbiage about being grateful for the chance to have a platform to express his faith may not fly well in the left leaning progressively liberal city. It is Ironic that in edition 26 of this column I wrote that the spiritual community in Denver needed to pray for a miracle and that Tim Tebow would not lead Denver to the Promised land of the Super Bowl.
The football gods have decreed that the needed miracle in the Signing of 4 time MVP Peyton Manning could be a key to a Denver Super Bowl run. I will go on record as saying Denver will not win the Super Bowl in 2012. As for Tebow, Ryan and Sanchez all 3 will need to keep there Egos in Check in 2012. If not you might see a locker room revolt that may resemble Rikers Island on a good day. No amount of Prayer from Tallahasse to Time Square will be able to still that Storm.
