Lakers Look to an early playoff exit
The 2 time defending NBA Champions are looking to start the off season early this year.The Mother,s Day
meltdown may be on the Menu in Dallas on Sunday. Despite a balanced scoring attack led by an ever active and unusually vocal Andrew Bynum with 21 points, the Lakers made key mistakes in the form of turnovers and poor rotational defense on the perimeter Pick and roll in the final 6.30 of the fpurth quarter to fall into a 0-3 hole to the Mavs. Dirk Nowitzki scored 32 points leading 4 players in double figures for Dallas.
Jason Terry made critical free throws down the stretch to seal it for Dallas. Terry scored 23. As for the Lakers despite having 5 players in double digits. Lack of excecution down the stretch doomed them. The team now faces an almost ceartin elimination in game 4. Let,s move to a few numbers.The Laker bench was outscored 42-15.The somewhat undersized Mavs outrebounded the Lakers 39-37 getting key stops in the 4th. The Mavericks also held the Lakers to only 41 second half points. I anticipate what you might be asking
would Ron Artest a defensive force haev made a diffrence. That question is important but due to a game 3 suspension the Lakers never got a chance to find out. The Lakers 3 point shooting has been atrocious. 3/13 in game 3 and an anemic 10/52 19 percent in in the series. Historically no team has ever come back from an 0-3 hole to win a series 0-98 overall. the NHL Maple Leafs (42), Islanders (75) and Flyers(10) Red Sox (04) are the only teams to overcome this type of deficit. Lakers fall 93-81 fall to 0-2 Who,s Sorry Now
The Los Angeles Lakers look like a bunch of school children waiting for Summer to start. They may get their wish as coach Phil Jackson the short timer syndrome coach has a lot to be worried about other than

Lakers Lose Game 1 of Series VS Dallas May 2nd 2011
While Dallas has not faced the Lakers in the Playoffs since 1988 when the Mavs had players such as Rolando Blackman aand Mark Aguirre running the floor. It seems like the Lakers were standing around watching the face of the franchise Kobe Bryant go 14-29 from the floor for 36 points while Pau Gasol, and Lamar Odom each had 15 points each with 23 rebounds between them. The 2 time defending champions out rebounded the Mavs 44-40 5 Mavs were in double Figures led by Dirk Nowitzky with 28 Pts 14 rebounds on 11-22 from the floor. 2 Fts with 19.5 seconds by the afore mentioned German sharpshooter sealed the game for the Mavs. The always articulate Phil Jackson said that the Lakers stopped playing defense and missed a lot of open looks. Kobe Bryant stated in the post game press conference that his ankle was fine but to many turnovers and poor defense to and including poor and late defensive rotations contributed to this
loss. I did mention prior to the game that I would prefer that Kobe Bryant not take 30 shots per game and the key would be rebounding as Pat Riely used to say No rebounds no rings. Christian Organizations Helping amidst recent natural disasters
Over the past several weeks, numerous natural disasters have wreaked havoc and destruction across the nation. People have lost their houses, cars, possessions, animals, and countless lives have been lost. 
In Alabama, the media has reported that over 342 lives have been lost; however, officials in the state have told us that there are many more fatalities that have not yet been reported, along with a number of people who are still listed as missing. The media is also not showing pictures and shots of the worst devastation in order to try to allay some fears.
The stories are the same in Mississippi and Arkansas. Families are still without power over a week later; a number of citizens have no place to stay and even those who have families in other states have no vehicles to get them there; parents are still searching for children and families are trying to reunite with those they've been separated from; etc. The devestation is literally unbelievable in these areas.But you can help. There are a number of organizations that are getting in the community and being the hands and feet of Christ, offering the aid that's needed, with the proceeds going directly to fulfilling the needs of the victims.
Benevolence and rendering aid to our fellow man has always been one of the key principles in Biblical, God-fearing societies. In fact, John Adams told us:
[C]hristian benevolence makes it our indispensable duty to lay ourselves out to serve our fellow-creatures to the utmost of our power.Daniel Webster also believed the principle of the Good Samaritan laid out in the Gospels:
Let the religious element in man's nature be neglected and he becomes the creature of selfish passion. The cultivation of the religious sentiment incites to general benevolence.
One of the groups following the Biblical principle of giving aid to those in need is Samaritan's Purse. They are on the ground in Alabama and Mississippi, offering assistance to the victims and helping to begin the rebuilding process in the destroyed communities. You can make a donation to them online or offer your time through volunteer opportunities.
In Arkansas, you can donate to Christian Ministries Church based in Hot Springs, AR (when you go to their website, the first banner at the top is a link to the disaster relief donation page). They've already begun the cleanup process, with crews from the church going out in bulldozers to clean debris from the properties, people taking chainsaws to clean up the trees and smaller debris, families 
offering housing to those who are without, etc. You can donate to them online as well through the link above, or by directly visiting the donation page.There is much need and if there is anything you can do to help (monetary donations, time, blankets, food, clothes, etc.), please contact Christian Ministries Church, Samaritan's Purse, or even the American Red Cross or the Salvation Army. Please remember to pray not only for the victims and families impacted by these horrendous disasters, but also for those who are on the ground, offering assistance. And if you are able, please lend aid to our fellow citizens who are in need!
